Bio
Chi-Ying Chang is the associate professor. He is a joint appointment faculty member at the General Education Center and the Department of History at National Tsing Hua University. His research expertise includes Ming and Qing history and socio-economic history, with a particular focus on historical thinking and urban life in the Ming and Qing periods. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of History at National Chi Nan University, as well as a master's degree from National Taiwan University and a bachelor's degree from National Chengchi University.
In academia, he has a wealth of research and teaching experience. He has served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica, and has held positions as an assistant professor and associate professor at both the Department of History and the General Education Center at National Tsing Hua University. He publications include significant journal articles and book chapters on topics such as environmental and water management issues during the Ming and Qing periods, socio-economic problems, and disaster relief policies in the Qing Dynasty.
