For the first time, the details of the 'Township Resilience Indicators' are being revealed, along with records of resilience-related activities such as the 2023 International Forum 'Health Apps and the Community: Adherence and Resilience' and healing exercises for young mature women.

The "Stories of Resilience" series was launched to conduct in-depth reports on individuals and organizations that have contributed to community services, promoted local history, developed culture, and shared insights on resilience. The first installment features the Chiang A-Hsin family and their foundation, along with reviews of the Corporate and National Resilience Forums by RESIDEMY.

The resilience stories of the Nanpu community are explored through the traditional 'Shiye (God of Stone) Festival' and the restoration of a century-old irrigation canal, along with insights into local exploration and fieldwork by NTHU students. Furthermore, a featured article guides readers through the resilience of waste glass materials.

The resilience stories of the Nanwai community are showcased through the reconnection of the Qianduanqi Ancient Trail and the revitalization of the Jiang Family Courtyard, also known as 'Castle in the Sky.' Additionally, workshops organized by RESIDEMY explore the potential for personal, family, and societal resilience through positive parent-child relationships.

What sets community resilience apart from organizational resilience? Discover how the Beipu Township Farmers' Association overcame pandemic challenges, expanded into online markets, and strengthened resilience. They also partnered with the Resilience Academy for a workshop—proving resilience can always grow. Key insights from the 2024 Industrial Resilience Workshop will also be highlighted.

NTHU CRR hosted the '2024 International Conference on Resilience and Management' and, in collaboration with the Beipu Township Office, organized the 'Resilient Townships: Sustainable Tourism Exhibition of Beipu Hakka Village' The event highlighted academic exchanges on resilience and the results of local resilience observations over the past three years. As part of the 'Stories of Resilience' series, our team visited the Long Ying-Zong Literary Museum, where an entire family demonstrated resilience in operating the museum.

Resilience and sustainability continue to grow in Beipu Township, the 'resilient township.' NTHU CRR and the Beipu Township Office have partnered again at the 'Beipu Lantern Festival' to launch a sustainable tour blending resilience with local culture. The Taiwan EcoTrek Association and Beipu Light Space are also planning sustainability reading clubs. This e-newspaper will provide follow-up reports and conclude the resilience story series with the Beipu Township Office's journey.

The Center for Resilience Research at NTHU promotes resilience both in communities and on campus. Through activities such as Open Space Technology (OST) meetings and the Happy to Chat project, it encourages in-person conversations to foster connection, understanding, and resilience at all levels.

This e-newspaper also continues its coverage of the Beipu Sustainability Book Club, inviting readers to explore sustainability and resilience while engaging with others in Beipu.

The NTHU CRR Team explored Nanpu Village in Beipu Township, studying resilience through century-old water systems, religious beliefs, and cultural landmarks like Chiang A-Hsin Mansion and the Shuangtang House. This inspired the "2025 Social Resilience Forum," focusing on how culture can endure and adapt. The publication compiles visit records and forum highlights, encouraging readers to reflect on building a resilient, shared future.

In recent years, extreme weather and stronger disasters have underscored the need for social resilience. This issue focuses on disaster resilience, exploring how prevention and adaptation strengthen local communities. It also highlights youth-led initiatives in Yilan addressing marine change, aging, and child welfare. A new column by NTHU researchers introduces key resilience concepts in clear, accessible language.

In the second half of the year, NTHU’s Center for Resilience Research held its first large-scale forum, focusing on national and organizational resilience. Experts from government, industry, and academia came together to spark new ideas on how to stay steady amid constant change. The team also visited the 2025 Asia-Pacific Sustainability Expo to observe emerging regional sustainability trends.

Internationally renowned disability research expert, Professor Michael Schoon, visited Tsinghua University! The Tsinghua University Disability Research Center invited Professor Schoon from a US state university, who proposed the Social Ecological Technology System (SETS) as a foundational governance perspective and visited tension-prone areas in Taiwan. 

Reality games have become an integral part of township resilience! In Beipu Township, a resilient township, various venues are unanimously reinterpreting local history and culture in innovative ways. This issue guides readers to rediscover Nanpu Village and the Long Ying-zong Literary Museum from the perspectives of game designers and users, allowing them to enter the venues, historical context, and folk beliefs in a more accessible way.

Drawing on diverse everyday scenarios, the program examines how changing living conditions and mindsets influence fertility intentions and the trend of declining birth rates; through campus interactions, it explores how people gauge the right moment to strike up a conversation with strangers.

In today’s world of accelerating global change, interactions among people and places, nature and technology, and everyday life and industry are giving rise to new possibilities for responding to the future. This issue takes “connection” across domains as its central theme, exploring the many dimensions of resilience.
